The President at the consultation canvassed for task force to be put in place by the electricity regulators to enforce compliance with the rules and regulations in the industry. NERC agreed with the recommendation of our President.

At the end of the consultation, all the participants vehemently opposed all the options proposed by the Commission for capping of estimated billing and said that the only acceptable solution electricity billing is metering of every consumer of power in Edo State.

On distribution franchising, investors would be required to show interest in taking charge of distributing electricity in specific areas under a franchise agreement with the disco and regulated by NERC. Interested investors will be franchisees to the BEDC and will be fully in charge of the areas franchised to them thus, distraction of power in their areas of franchise, carrying out enumeration and metering the customers in the area, billing and collecting money from customers.
